Happy Holidays!
I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving filled with lots of love, laughter, and–of course–food!
It seems like no sooner are the leftovers packed up that we shift to the December holidays. This year, I’m trying to stay mindful of my goal to simplify, to protect my time. In that vein, when I started to think through this year’s gift guide, it occurred to me:
What a perfect opportunity to stay centered on that idea with gifts curated from small businesses and handmakers!
So, for this year, I give you two simple roundups: the best holiday gifts for people who love pets and the best holiday gifts for pets. Truly, every single one of these items sits on my wish list (Santa, if you’re reading, just FYI). Many are eco-friendly. All support makers and small business owners.
Check them out and let me know: Which of the below is your favorite? And what’s on YOUR wishlist this year? You know, just in case Santa’s reading the comments!

1. Happy Cat Zipper Pouch I mean, how cute?! // 2. There’s, like, a bunch of cats in here. There’s also a dog version, plus tons of other hilarious doormats in this shop! // 3. Pink Floral Pit Bull Print Leggings Because obviously. But there are LOTS of other breeds and prints available. // 4. Personalized Pet Silhouette Stamp A super cute and cost-conscious gift! // 5. The Dog Hipster OMG, I’m so obsessed with her bags. There’s also a cat cross-body style and a million adorable purses and makeup bags. Y’all already know I’m obsessed with my lace pawprint tote!
1. Hanukkah Dog Treat Assortment Also available in Christmas versions! // 2. Wool Pet Toys Eco-friendly for dogs and cats. // 3. Annie Catnip Kicker Newt would go nuts for this since she’s a big-time bunny-kicker. // 4. Large Rope Dog Toys Made from upcycled T-shirts! LOVE! // 5. Deer Antler Dog Chews In a one- or two-pound pack!
Asia has that door mat in the dog version and it fits her household perfectly. Of everything, I love the tug toys. When I first saw the pic, I thought “uh-oh…rope toys” but I love that they’re made of t-shirts and not string-y rope.
Ooooh, so jealous Asia has that mat! I’m crossing my fingers Santa brings me one! 🙂
As for the toys, YES! OMG. Rope toys make me nuts, but with the upcycled T-shirts, all that stringy junk is a non-issue. Plus, the eco-friendliness is a huge win in my book!!
We LOVE pets, as we are sure that you do too. Check out what we are doing to help support animal welfare.
I just love those leggings and the bag. Thanks for this gift guide. So many ideas for Santa!
The leggings are seriously at the top of my list!! I *think* I saw some Chihuahua versions in her shop, too! 😉
Too fun! I’m loving that dog bag – and the welcome mat! I have a friend that could use that. haha

Gift ideas FTW! Thanks for visiting and commenting! 🙂
What a great idea! Gifts that are both affordable and made by small businesses or crafters are so much more unique. I actually just created my own products this year, working with an artist on a dog design. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I love the cat welcome mat, it’s too funny!! That would be a perfect gift for a cat lover. It’s nice to see the pets who celebrate Hanukkah having their own products too! Personally, I’m wishing for a new laptop. Although not exactly small biz material, it’s a must! I hope Santa reads this….
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
OMG! I love your sweatshirts!! I would totally add them to this list! 😉 A laptop sounds like a good wish… I tweeted out this morning looking for other writers with experience with Chromebooks because I’m kind of eyeing one myself (ahem, SANTA!)
Love the “multi pack” of antlers. Those things are like crack for the dogs in my life. I also really like those leggings, which are pretty much a uniform for me on the weekend. I appreciate the low cost suggestions, as it can get expensive at the holidays when you have nine grandchildren like I do!
Honestly, I’m way late to the leggings party, but now that I’ve discovered them, I think “weekend uniform” is a new goal for me!! Nine grandchildren is AMAZING! That could totally get expensive, but I set the goal for myself this year to find long-lasting, affordable gifts–like the antler pack! Happy Holidays!!
Dog doormats are cool, so that’s what I would put on my wish list.
I agree! Definitely go check out her shop–she has some pretty fab dog options!
These are great ideas! I always try to buy something unique for my almost everyone on my list. Small businesses make me happy.
I agree–I love unique gifts! And supporting small business!
Antlers are such a great holiday present. Not only do dogs love them, but they last long and are digestible.
I totally agree! I’m all about consumable gifts instead of more stuff, and long-lasting is a huge bonus!
