Can you even believe it? I honestly don’t know where the year has gone…
Anyway, one of my favorite things about the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is that, unlike the Saturday, Sunday, and Monday after Thanksgiving, it celebrates GIVING instead of getting! Sure, I love presents and gift guides and giveaways as much as anybody, but giving is the spirit of the season, right?
So, for this Giving Tuesday, I’m thrilled to share this news:
Giving Tuesday is the official digital kick-off day for the annual Best Friends $2 million Holiday Match — where all holiday gifts are matched up to $2 million dollars, thanks to a group of generous donors who create the match fund each fall.
Two. Million. Dollars.
Also, this year’s Giving Tuesday poster dog? He looks SO much like Emmett, it brought tears to my eyes!
Today, starting at 8:30 am MT, Best Friends will be posting hourly videos and Periscoping (is that the right verb? scoping? I still haven’t learned Periscope…) and on social media. You can follow along on the Best Friends Facebook, Twitter (@bestfriends) and Instagram (@bestfriendsanimalsociety) accounts. The live videos will include co-founder and CEO, Gregory Castle, as well as shots from Puppy Preschool at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and the Los Angeles kitten nursery.
