Four things you need to know before we dive into the details:
- BarkBox now offers two custom boxes: hypoallergenic and power chewer!
- They have a new policy – Scout’s Honor – that ensures your dog will love his box goodies.
- This weekend, to launch the new policy, they’re offering 20% off.
- There is some EPIC do-gooding associated with this news!! (See below! Your heart will be warmed!)
We’ve been getting BarkBox delivered for a while now (since last fall?) and there have been a handful of items that just didn’t work for my herd. Which is such a bummer because you feel like that month you missed out on the fun. Clearly we weren’t the only ones who had that issue because the brand just launched Scout’s Honor. Here’s the deal, straight from them:
Scout’s Honor is our guarantee that if your pup doesn’t ruv an item in their box, just give us a holler and we’ll send a replacement better suited for them. For real. No fee. No fuss. No disappointed pups! In order for us to have enough goodies for all the pups in the land, we ask that you reserve Scout’s Honor for those times when a treat or toy is totally undesirable to your pup. If that’s ever the case, holler at the BarkHappy team (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we’ll get a brand new goodie on the way as soon as pawsible.
Well, there ya’ go!
And, to celebrate their happy new policy: From Friday at 9:30am EST to Monday at 9:30am EST, all 10% coupon codes will be DOUBLED to 20% off!
I have an affiliate code that will get you that discount. Simply click HERE!
Here’s a quick look at what was in the August box:
Both of the treats were Cooper-approved!!!
I will say… I shoulda known better than to give him that lobster. It was in pieces within 20 seconds. The Jolly Ball, which is a generally very durable toy, is still holding strong with only a few puncture wounds.
To compare, here’s what the July box looked like:
Sorry, not a great quality pic, but that worm/fish/bone-looking toy is still floating around here (though, de-squeaked) and one of the two treats were Coop-approved! This box also came with a bully-stick-like chew, but it was duck.
That’s the gist! We’re big fans of this company because they do SO MUCH GOOD for animals in need. In fact, the company just launched an entire department, BarkGood, that is tasked with helping animals find homes. (Wouldn’t that be the best job?!) BarkGood is a division of Bark & Co. dedicated entirely on working to get every pup in a home, and giving support to those who are not as fortunate and are currently sitting in shelters and rescues. Straight from them:
Just like the rest of Bark & Co, we want to make sure everything we do moves the needle, and makes a difference in a new way. We want potential adopters to get rid of those age old assumptions about shelter dogs, and we want to support rescue organizers as they try to exciting new things to get these pups adopted! BarkFund currently gives $1k – $2k a week to all different kind of initiatives (For example, Cool 50 for 50 – funded the purchase of 50 kiddie pools and ice for outdoor pit bulls who would otherwise not survive the summer.)
Right?! They’re launching a website to outline all the initiatives, but I LOVED this:
“Did you know we started a New York Pit Bull Appreciation Society and we give “Pit Bull Approved BarkBoxes” to all NYC pit bulls that get adopted? How can we get this started in your city?”
Anyway, that’s all four pieces of news in one (way too long…) post! If you have any questions, please leave ’em in the comments. If you’ve been debating a subscription service for your pup or as a gift for a pup, this weekend is a great time because of the extra savings.
Happy weekend, everyone!
