We have a weird water situation in our kitchen, so we always give the herd filtered water. We got this PetSafe water fountain, but we’re always cognizant of the potential for a fear reaction. Here’s how it went down:

Lucas, by the way, avoided it completely for two or three whole days, then out of nowhere started drinking from it. Newt is still disinterested.
Have you tried a water fountain like this? Do you think your pets would be excited and curious, like Emmett? Or wary like Newt?
Cute video!
“Always cognizant of a fear reaction” is something I need to be more aware of. I (finally) purchased a can of spray cheese and tried it on my dogs without warning. They acted like I was about to shoot them or something. Luckily I was able to curb my enthusiasm and treat a shelter dog.
I love how it only takes one of them to be brave enough to try it.
OUR sister Maggie is afraid of all new things, then after a few days she settles down. Momma bought a pug statue and put it in the livingroom and Mags barked and barked at it for two days.

Interesting that Newt was so reluctant. Cats have a reputation for loving moving water.
I’m not bringing anything new into the house right now. But Honey does like our home version of a fountain–pouring water out of a bottle into a bowl so she can drink from the stream. She much prefers it to drinking still water.
I think one, if not both of them would paw at it and knock it over.
How can you stand in that water? Stanley likes to stand in our water.

I’m pretty sure Atka would be afraid of it 😉
Luke just loves the one we won in a giveaway. Unfortunately, he stepped on it and broke it. The others weren’t using it too much, but Sheba was the only one that really avoided it. My hubby tried gluing the pieces together which seemed to work but then when washing it before putting it back together, he broke it again! Hopefully it will be back soon, and both boys will be more careful with it. 🙂
