Our last big adventure on Emmett’s road trip was a stop at the PetSafe office in Knoxville. It was AWESOME! They were so warm and welcoming.
They had even saved him his very own parking space.
So, in the past, I’ve had a ton of opportunity to work with the PetSafe team on my assignments for Pet Age magazine. I met with them in person at BlogPaws and LOVED having the opportunity to combine work + blog!
They took us on a tour of their very dog-friendly office. Around every turn Emmett met a new pup! They filled us in on all their philanthropic efforts. You guys, they do so much.
They build dog parks, donate behavior enrichment toys to shelters, and give college tuition assistance and mentoring to high school students, among other programs. (You can read about them here.)
But the one that I’m most passionate about and that really hits home for us is their support of the Morris Animal Foundation’s Fight Against Canine Cancer. Last year, PetSafe raised over $80,000 toward that fight. As they told me all about those initiatives, while Emmett wagged his tail at my feet, I choked back tears. He is an angelic, sweet face of canine cancer, and hearing how hard they’re working to fight this disease… well, I can really get behind them and help champion those efforts.
They also walked us through all the products that they knew would appeal to me and you guys (I know that there are some that don’t, which we’ll address down the line), and they let Emmett “taste test” some of their new dental products. Bet you guys can guess how that went over! To be fair, Emmett is NOT a good taste-tester… he’ll eat anything… compost, toads, and so on… but he liked the dental bones!
They also let him try out one of their fountains.
The idea of circulating filtered water is really appealing. Here in LA, we have pretty grody water, which is evident when you change their water bowls. There’s a mineral-y (pretty sure that’s the technical term) deposit left around the rim. We use a filter, but it just doesn’t seem to get that gunk.
We were so excited to find out that they were sending one home with us!
And not just that…
They sent a second that I could give away to YOU! (See the giveaway widget at the bottom of this post.)
All in all, we had an incredible morning. Emmett quickly realized that he could get an unending supply of treats if he kept performing little tricks like wave. The boy knows how to work a crowd.
Everyone at PetSafe was so kind and welcoming, and I’m thrilled to be in contact with them to fight this battle against canine cancer! We’ll be back at their offices very soon… details on that to come!
In the meantime, thanks to the generosity of the folks at PetSafe, one of you can win this Stoneware Pagoda drinking fountain.

Aww, how sweet, and how awesome of them. The parking spot sign was extra cute! Entered to win – not sure if the dogs would make a mess with this – but love the idea of it! Thanks!

That’s awesome, I’ve heard of all they do (ie bark parks) but did not know about the cancer raising efforts.
I met them at BlogPaws 2013 and they sent ME home with a fountain. Which reminds me, my dogs need to learn to drink from it. 🙂
I’m so glad to hear that Emmett was given such a wonderful welcome.

That is awesome how much they have raised for MAF. My hometown is currently in PetSafe’s Bark for Your Park contest too, with a chance to a win a lot of money for a new dog park. It seems like a very good and generous company.

I love that Emmett was given his own parking! Do you find he likes being a VIP or is he the type of dog who prefers to stay in the background?
