A list

1. When your husband picks up a 4-week-old kitten with fleas and worms who has to eat every two hours… and then goes out of town… your day turns into this: Get up, take out 4 dogs, feed 5/6 animals, put Molly in her crate, feed kitten, comb her out with the flea comb, clean her room, start laundry. Try to work. Ding! Time to feed kitten again. Change her bedding, clean her box. It takes her half an hour to eat 2 teaspoons. Wash hands, change clothes, switch laundry. Sit down to work. Ding! Time to feed kitten again. Change her bedding, clean her box. It takes her half an hour to eat 2 teaspoons. Wash hands, change clothes, switch laundry. Sit down to work. Ding! Time to feed kitten again. And it’s not even noon yet. Ding!

I think you’ve got something on your face, dear.

2. Em’s road trip dates have been finalized! I’ll be posting his Bucket List very soon (also finalized) and then the dates for each stop of his journey along with any meetup plans. I can’t wait to see so many of you on the road!

3. The Harris situation got out of control. More accurately, Emmett got out of control. We had to fence off the pond.

4. Ding!

Hope you’re having a great week! I’ll try to be more coherent tomorrow! 🙂

Why doesn’t Newt take care of the kitten? Shouldn’t her cat mothering instincts be kicking in? 🙂

You know, that might happen. I’m not sure. Right now, though, the kitten has to be isolated because she definitely has worms and she’s too young to test for any of the cat diseases like FIV and Feline Leukemia. Once she’s tested and, hopefully, given the all-clear, we’ll introduce them!

I once had to raise three kittens when the mother cat got killed. I feel your sleep deprivation pain.

Maggie you have no idea how our lives are paralleled. I have 4 dogs of my own and had 5 cats until last Monday. Monday I had to put my 18 year old tuxedo cat Boots to sleep due to renal failure. I currently am fostering a very unruly and loud dog and am keeping my daughters two dogs while she is on vacation. To top it off my 18 year old dog (one of the four mentioned above) is very ill and we are daily considering when we should let her go. I also have a thriving business from home that has deadlines, but is on hold for right now. Bless you Maggie, I know how exhausting and crazy it can get. Hang in there. Ding!!

Oh, my goodness, Phyllis. First of all, I’m so sorry for the loss of Boots. What a long, wonderful life you gave Boots. You have a VERY full house right now! Keep up the good work!! Ding! 🙂

Haha! Exactly… that’s how I’ve been feeling all week. Every time I get into a groove, it’s time to feed her again! Ah, well. Everything passes!

DING! Hilarious! I admire you for taking care of the poor cat. It must be hard to manage with those many pets around to take care of. But it sure is rewarding, right? 🙂 – Maria

I can’t believe you had time to even write a blog post! I was stressed out just reading your schedule. OMD!

I love that you are doing a bucket list for Em. He is such a loved dog. That has to be the one thing on his bucket list that is already crossed off huh? 🙂

Hoping you survive until your husband returns. You know, I was thinking that I would so want a husband who had a heart big enough to stop and save a sick little kitten, but part of me is now wondering if I am crazy. Nah! 🙂

He’s back… I sent him to go purchase refreshments. 😉 THEN he can take over kitten duties!

Adopting a kitten at 4 weeks old is a ton of work, but by placing her in your family at such a tender age, she will really bond and integrate with your family.
