Is it possible to tread water uphill?
I’m sort of feeling like that… We’ve had a crazy couple of weeks to say the least.
On top of all regular work schedules, stuff around the house, and – cough, cough – a potential HUGE change on the horizon (more info as soon as I can share, promise), then with all the Emmett stuff, we’ve been emotionally drained in addition to physically busy driving him around to appointments. Then, Lukey ripped open his stitches, which was more vet appointments, and because he ripped it all the way open down to the connective tissue, they couldn’t restitch. So, we have a 10-minute procedure two times a day. Throw in a five-day super fun visit from my parents (they just left this morning), and my head is spinning.
Totally unrelated, but while my parents were here we saw a bald eagle hunting! See him swooping down on the left-hand side?
Anyway! Such is life!
But when I sat down to look at my calendar, I realized… OMG!! One week from this very minute, I’ll be landing in Las Vegas for BlogPaws.
I’m so giddy! It totally gave me the burst of motivation I need to power through the next week.
Of course, my excitement was quickly followed by that intense panicky feeling I get about high-intensity social situations. I’m an introvert through and through, so I always have some rough patches at big conferences. Plus, I have some additional anxiety about leaving Emmett, even though I know everything will be ok.
Luckily, I know a lot of YOU are going! If you’re going, pretty please leave a comment and let me know! I’ll be looking for familiar faces… probably from the bar/shrimp cocktail/corner where I tend to stand nervously. Will you join me there? 🙂
I wish with all my heart that I could go and hang out with my awesome friends.
You will have a great time, you’ll find your pack and all will be well. I promise.
Thanks for the kind words, Jodi! So nice of you!
Have fun!
I will! Thanks, Rebekah! Will let you know how it goes!
I a buying you a drink Thursday night! Can’t wait! (Ok so maybe Thursday afternoon…)
Can’t wait to meet you in person, Diane! So excited!
I would swim there for sure! We wish we were going to Blog Paws. One of these years!
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
One of these years, for sure! We’ll meet then! 🙂
as one introvert to another… make sure to schedule quiet and down time after to re energize! It makes enjoying the outgoing time more possible! kisses to Emmett (and of course Lucas and Cooper and Molly and NEWT! what a herd!)
YES! You are so right… that time to recharge is so critical. Great tip!!
I wish we were going…maybe someday.
YES! Someday, Debra! 🙂
Going to Blog Paws would require ‘fessing up to the blog to people who know me in real life, which I still haven’t done. Oops.
I’m sure you’ll be fine.
Oh, interesting, Jessica!! I didn’t realize your blog was a Top Secret project!
I wish I was going, because I would definitely hang out in the corner of the bar with you! 🙂
I am a total introvert too, which is one of the big reasons why I haven’t summoned up the nerve to go yet. I do want to go someday though, and am really thinking about going next year, depending on where it is.
Very cool bald eagle photo, and I hope everything else settles down for you soon too.
Jan, I’d love to hang out in the corner of the bar with you. Someday! Hopefully next year! 😉
What’s the change??
HAAAAAA!!!!! Good question, hubby.
You know I will be there! Can’t wait to meet you in person (and since I’m a soft-spoken, innie sort myself, I’m creating a twitter handle list, so I don’t miss out due to lack of mingling skills). 🙂
Hope your upcoming week is a bit calmer (and my best to those sweet doggies, Emmett and Lucas – poor dears). That eagle shot is awesome! There’s an eagle’s nest not far from my house and every now and then, they’ll grace us with their presence, too.
Ooohh! The Twitter list is a brilliant idea! I may have to do the same! So excited to meet you next week!
I know you’ll find it hard to leave your boys at home, especially Emmett. But just think of how fun it will be to see them again.
And I know you’ll have a great time at Blog Paws. Have fun!
