Some random Friday fun

02•21•14

What a week!

I’m sure by now you guys know that I hate this house we’re renting. The ceiling leaks, there are rodents under the floors, the entire thing is painted in shades of orange (with texture!), the overgrown landscaping blocks every window so there’s no sun, the dishwasher doesn’t work, there are cockroaches, a shelf in the “built-ins” collapsed while Newt was on it, I could go on.

But, now our landlord is possibly selling it out from under us. He’s had people come through all week – which is hugely inconvenient since I work from home and  have to get the dogs out every time – and then for the last two days, workers showed up unannounced to work on the windows (they don’t open, and even if they did, they don’t have screens) and the roof.

As much as I hate this house, I’d rather live here than… nowhere. Sigh. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

So, I thought I should focus on FUN today! My birthday was earlier this week, and John made me a meme that cracked me up since we were going out for oysters to celebrate.

Berfder Ersters

Also, the weather’s been so nice, these three monsters have been holding Wrestle Mania all day every day!

We’re enjoying being outside, that’s for sure.

That’s about it from here! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. Hopefully this all gets settled so things can return to normal. Coming up: a BarkBox review video, a cat puzzle DIY, a fabulous guest post from Sharon of Grouchy Puppy, and more.

In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend!

Ugh, sorry about the renting frustrations! We had the exact same situation this fall: we lived in a crappy little house that our landlords (who, to their credit, were a very sweet couple) decided to sell. They agreed to let us out of lease early, whenever we found a place to live, and it turned out being a huge blessing in disguise, because then we found and bought our ideal house! Hope you have a similar happy ending and find the perfect place when the time is right.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that, that really sucks.

I wish you were in my area, I’d gladly throw a tenant out for you. 😉

Oh man, that sucks. It sucks A LOT. As a renter, I live in fear that my landloards will sell this place and I will never find an apartment even half as perfect ever again.

Maybe this is the perfect opportunity that leads to an amazing house, free of rodents, vermin and frustration. (Oh and free from orange. Who paints in orange!?)

Oh no, Maggie, it’s just so unsettling to not know for sure what’s going to happen. I am sure everything will end up working out for the best. Maybe you’ll find a new home in an area with less loose dogs running around!
