When it comes to treats, Newt isn’t picky. She’d eat just about anything if given the chance. So it’s up to us to make sure she’s getting healthy, biologically-appropriate cat treats.
Orijen has a new line of cat treats coming out early 2014, and thanks to the fabulous folks at Chewy.com, we got to taste test a sample (and – spoiler alert! – two of you will get the same opportunity).
According to the package, these freeze-dried cat treats are “Loaded with goodness from fresh cage-free chicken and turkey from local prairie farms, plus fresh wild-caught flounder from North Vancouver’s pristine Pacific Ocean.” The ingredient list reads like a kitten’s dream: chicken liver, turkey liver, boneless chicken, boneless turkey, boneless flounder.
As soon as I peeled the top open on the little bag, Newt jumped up on the counter and reached her paw out, trying to swipe the bag out of my hand! She absolutely loved them. I loved that I could break them into tiny pieces to keep her occupied for longer during a game of “chase the treat.”
Overall, we were very happy with these Orijen free-dried cat treats, and we’ll definitely purchase full-size bags when it hits shelves! I’m keeping an eye on Chewy.com for when that happens!
Thank you to Chewy.com for allowing us to taste test these awesome Orijen treats and for the opportunity to share them with you guys before they’ve even hit the shelves! Two people will win sample packs for their lucky cats!
