My view last night from about 6 pm until bedtime:
After eight days away from my furballs, I spent hours squished in between them, just snuggling. So peaceful. They were wiped from spending the week at “doggy daycare” and I don’t imagine that they’ll move much over the next two days! With so much time away, I’m frantically trying to catch up on everything that slipped through the cracks, so here are a few announcements:
1. Our friends at Clear Conscience Pet are offering 20% off your entire order excluding shipping with the code OMDBLOG (all caps). Wahoo! You might remember I reviewed their Cruncherz product. Next I think I’m going to try the Super Gravy.
2. After much deliberation following the Pet Blogger Challenge and conversations with many of you, I’ve decided to take the plunge and launch a monthly newsletter. What will it contain? Totally unique content from the blog, including downloadable checklists and guides, photo contests, and super secret passwords to enter giveaways only available to subscribers. Please join in the fun, and subscribe here!
3. Finally, here is a big, giant virtual hug for you guys. Seriously, thank you. So many of you were here from the beginning of the cancer mess, cheerleading me along. When I left for my tests and appointments last Sunday, I didn’t really mention it, but several of you kind folks intuited what was going on and sent the nicest messages. Ever. Seriously. I cried. Anyway, I was going through the battery of tests with my oncology team because I’ve nearly hit the one-year post-treatment point (2/27 is the official date, but who’s quibbling?) and I got the ALL CLEAR! Wahooo! This is a huge milestone in the whole process, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kind words, wishes, prayers, and thoughts. You have no idea how much it means to me, and I’m incapable of articulating it except to say thank you.
Oh, and the pic above… Newt was there, too! Silly girl loves to burrow. 🙂
Debra
I love snuggling with my bed hogs and one of my kitties loves spooning under the blankets with me too. Some days I would just love to do nothing but that.
So glad to read that everything else went well. ALL CLEAR is so awesome.
Maggie
Thanks, Debra! Newt is so funny… during the day she wants nothing to do with me, and if I dare to pet her, she bites me! At night, though, she spoons right against my stomach or legs. I feel used.
sofia
eeeekkkkk that was a squeal 1) of how cute your herd is welcoming you home and not letting you out of their sights 2) pure joy and happiness that you got the all clear!!!!
Maggie
Thanks, Sof!! 😀
Phyllis
Last week I told my daughter how my favorite part of your blog was hearing about your animal family. I can relate so much to your life with your special friends (family). I loved your pictures today and missed the short time we didn’t get to see them on a regular basis.
There are no words on how great it is to hear that you got such a good report from your doctor. You are such a dear sweet person. I am so thankful that you are now blessed with good health once again.
Maggie
That is so incredibly kind of you to say, Phyllis. Sincerely, thank you!! I’m so glad to you’re here and sharing your stories, too!
jan
I do believe in the power of prayer/good wishes,/crossed paws, etc. to bring good results. Always so glad to hear good results.
A newsletter? I’m there.
Maggie
Awesome! Thanks, Jan! I’m right there with you… I’ve really come to believe that positivity really does affect change.
Erik
Was wondering why you’d “gone dark” for that time! Didn’t make the connection, but I’m so glad you’re in the clear! Here’s to many more happy and healthy decades!
Maggie
Thanks, Erik!! I totally meant to schedule some stuff ahead of time but completely dropped the ball. Ah, well! 🙂 Thanks for sticking around!!

That is the best news, Maggie, congratulations on getting the all clear. I can only imagine how great that must feel. There is no place in the world better to be than snuggling on the bed with all your fur babies! I’m going to sign up for your newsletter now, that sounds like it will be great.
Kathy Keith

Yay! Thanks, Kathy!! I totally agree… this community is incredible. I’ve belonged to other groups on FB and social channels, and it always turns negative. I’m SO grateful that everyone here is so positive and supportive of one another! Thanks for subscribing!
Maggie
Thank you, Jan!! It oddly perfect that the south is getting hit with a “wintry mix” because it gives me the perfect excuse to spend another whole day snuggling the herd! 🙂 Thanks for signing up!!
D. Cryor
So many wonderful reasons to celebrate! Congratulations on the all clear AND congrats on a bed FULL of your herd, including Newt!! Wow!
Maggie
If you had told me just a few months ago that Newt would be under the comforter next to Lucas, I would’ve said you were crazy! Definitely worth a celebration!! Wahoo! 🙂

By the way Maggie most people don’t realize you can run your own email newsletter using software on your hosting account.
http://adamyamada.com/dada-mail-great-free-email-list-management-software/
It’s best to stick with one of the email list providers for ease-of-use and time, but if you want to start segmenting email lists using Dada Mail is an ideal option.
Maggie
Thanks for sharing the tip and the link! I’m going to check that out and see what’s included with my hosting account. Thanks, Adam! Hope you guys are staying warm and safe in this icy weather!
Rebekah
I had no idea of your health struggles. Wonderful news!! (((HUGS)))
Maggie
Thanks, Rebekah! I actually thought of you when I was in Indy for all my appointments. I drove down to Bloomington for an afternoon and passed a sign for your town. Next time I’ll try to plan ahead and take you out for a beer!
Jessica
Wonderful! I’m so happy for you.
Ruckus the Eskie
