We had a lot of fun yesterday!
EntirelyPets.com generously sent us a box of dog Halloween costumes and accessories for the boys – and Newt! – to try on, so we set up a little photoshoot, complete with a spooky bug backdrop to figure out who’s wearing what on the big day. Here’s what worked:
This little pirate? Cutest matey ever! (The costume is a little more complicated to put on than most simply because the belt is an additional around-the-belly piece.) I love the little touches on this costume: the feather in the cap, the little silver sword tucked into his belt. Seriously precious. And you won’t even believe the prices on these costumes. Seriously, go look. I’ll wait.
And then there are costumes that just suit the wearer’s personality, right? This costume is so Newt. (Dang, it’s hard to get a cat to pose.) Aria Witch Hat ($2.99!)
There were two other costumes – a butterfly and a Mighty Dog cape – but they were too small, so I’ve sent them on to other pups who I know they’ll fit and who have promised to provide photos!
And then… then, there was this! We’ve been calling them the “candy corn” accessories. Everyone modeled the look.
And! Since EntirelyPets.com has so generously offered a Halloween costume for one of you guys, I thought this was the perfect contest!
Who wore it best?
Emmett
Cooper
Lucas (the hat didn’t fit his big ole head!)
A tough call!
In order to win, use the Rafflecopter widget below! (This is the first time I’m trying this, so please feel free to also leave a comment and let me know if you think it works!)
Disclaimer: These were all sent to me by the generous folks at EntirelyPets.com – the same generous folks who are providing the giveaway! Despite receiving them for free, the opinions above are all mine – as are the adorable pics of my guys trying them on. For more information on my review policies, check out my disclaimers.

UPDATE: We have a winner! Congratulations to Debra – you won the Halloween costume! You’ll be getting an email from me shortly with all the details.
And, in case you’re wondering, here’s how the voting broke out:
Emmett: 8
Lucas: 1 (poor Lukey!)
Cooper: 12
Oh my gosh, how cute are they in their little costumes?
I have to admit, I think it fits Cooper the best so he’ll get my vote. (Emmett looks wholly unimpressed and Lucas looks like he can hardly breathe in the collar – it’s no wonder the hat didn’t fit! 😉
Very cute all around. Love the witchy kitty, too.
It’s SO HARD to find a good costume for Lucas! They just don’t make many for the big boys. Thanks for voting and commenting!
so true! I found it impossible to find a costume for our pit bull, & she’s not huge or anything…just has a HUGE chest, so for the few costumes that do come in size XL & XXL, the XL was a bit too snug & the XXL was too big =( I keep wondering why somebody doesn’t start a store w/ costumes/attire for bigger dogs!
YES!! We struggle with that with Emmett. It’s just the bully barrel chest! 🙂 If I were a craftier person, I’d just make one for him!
I don’t need to be in the contest, but Cooper definitely wears this one best. Emmett is quite handsome though and Lukey should be the lobster. And Kudos for Newt for wearing a hat!!!!
Getting Newt in the hat…. Whoo boy. 🙂 I’ll post the lobster pics later in the week!
Cooper just has that jaunty tilt to his hat that just makes me smile, but Emmett is just kind of tugging at my heartstrings, so I’m going to have to cast my vote for him.
Awww! So sweet, Debra!
I’m not a fan of dogs (or cats) in costumes. But Emmett’s nonchalant attitude nearly won me over. 🙂
I’m such a sucker for an animal in a costume… I’m glad Emmett nearly got you! 🙂
It would not accept my vote. But I think Cooper so rocked that costume!
Oh, no! Robbin, I’m so sorry! I’m new to Rafflecopter so trying to figure it out. Did it give an error message or anything?
I can’t choose just one–I have to vote for all of them! Or maybe Newt since she tolerated having a hat put on her! They are all so cute!
“Tolerated” is not exactly accurate… 🙂 She’s going to kill me in my sleep.
I think Lucas pulled it off the best! He’s just so handsome!
He’s certainly photogenic – I think if the room hadn’t been so hot, we might have gotten a better pic! Ah, well. Live and learn! 🙂
Maggie, I think you are the winner!! Your website always make me smile. Today however, it made me laugh. I guess Cooper wore it best, but Emmett’s look on his face made me laugh so hard ( like he is saying, am I doing this right Mom??) Anything Lucas does I love. Lucas looks just like he came from the same gene pool of my precious Julie, so of course I loved his beautiful face in the costume. Thanks for the delightful post today.
Phyllis, Your comment made my day!!! Seriously, thank you SO much for the kind words, and I’m really glad that I could make you smile!! 🙂
Oh my gosh!! Cooper is a model. It’s like he is wearing the hat at just the right angle to give him the best look. Emmet and Lucas look like they are making sure they are doing it right. Cooper makes me laugh–he’s even got his legs in such a pose as if he’s accentuating his long lean legs! I put my two in Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears this weekend to see if that might work. Dash looks annoyed in the pictures and Lilly is quite thrilled with the attention and having a bow in her hair!
Oh, my gosh!! That is so cute – I’d love to see the pic! You should post it on the FB page so everyone can see! 🙂
Okay this is a tight one, Maggie – but Emmett stole my vote and heart. If you all are interested, I have a Halloween costume contest on FidoseofReality.com, too. Hope the ghosties and ghoblins bring more treats than tricks 😉
Just entered! 🙂
Cooper is totally rocking that look! He looks happy to be dressed up.
They’re all pretty good about dressing up! I think they figure… if I wear this I get all those treat? OK! I’ll wear it! 🙂
Didn’t they do great!! Your animals are all such good sports….mine won’t let me put costumes on them (we had a fiasco with just hats one Christmas, where they all look totally pitiful in the pictures).
Therefore, we won’t be entering the rafflecopter but I want to enter my vote for Cooper….I love the jaunty way he wore that hat! 🙂
HA! I’d love to see those pictures! 🙂
These guys have gotten really good about costumes and stuff over the years… I consider it “payment” for all I do for them! HA!
