Treat Triad interactive dog toy: Review and giveaway

07•26•13

Happy Friday, everyone!

I’m excited to end the week with a review and giveaway for you, and this one is particularly fun since we’ve been talking about ways to keep our dogs busy indoors. EntirelyPets.com generously provided us with some products to test out, and this one was – by far – my favorite. And, even better, they have offered to give one away to an OMD! reader! See below for all the details…

Because the product I’m reviewing, the Treat Triad, is an interactive today, and because I set the goal of making more videos… voilà! A video review! As you will see, there are some kinks I still need to work out (like, why I talk all weird as soon as John hits record?), but it was a lot of fun to see how each of the three dogs interacted differently with the toy.

Product review: Treat Triad from Maggie Marton on Vimeo.

I chose to film it in the room above our garage because that’s the only room in the whole house that gets natural light. It’s also the room where we did most of our cat training, which is why Cooper was so disinterested – I think he was looking for Newt! I don’t think his behavior is representative of how most dogs will interact with the toy.

Really, I think the Treat Triad is the perfect toy to break out when you’ve been stuck inside or, perhaps, when you need to keep your dog occupied while you make a phone call.

In addition to the Treat Triad we got to test, EntirelyPets.com is kindly offering one for your guys! But, first, a little bit about the site:

EntirelyPets.com is the leader in online pet supplies and non-prescription pet medications. Our vet operated site provides you with a wide selection of pet products at unbeatable prices, with excellent customer service.

That looks like a lot of fun! My Charlie LOVES puzzles… this would be a good one for her. And I promise to share our experience (if we win) as long as you tell me what video editing software you are using – I need to learn to do videos for my blog too!

I would love to try different toys because I have a dog that isn’t as interactive with me as my other one.

haha Maggie! I loved the video! You? Embarrassed? Why? Camera shy?

Emmett did awesome! And Cooper reminded me of what my Titan would do. Pick it up and flip it over to get the yummies out. This toy is very cool looking! I’d love to give it a try so if I don’t win one, I’ll probably hunt one down and give it a shot!

    Thanks for sharing!

BTW, I forgot to mention, I love how you use “Wait” and “Ok”! I do the same with Titan. 🙂

Great Video!!! Our lab Monty would love this! It looks like much more of a challenge than the “cookie ball” because he figures those out right away. I would love to give a review if we win. Thanks for the opportunity.

great video Maggie, I love how each of the boys interacted differently, Emmett wisely and calmly spins it and lifts the flap, with age comes wisdom and patience. Cooper gives it a go but thinks ‘this is the work room, I don’t want to work this hard for my treat, I’ll sit or give them a high five to get my liver, much easier’ and Lucas does what a young impatient dog would do, just tips the whole thing over, why bother trying to get individual treats, one at a time when you can just flip it over and dump out all the treats.
Cash would probably pick it up and toss it around til the top spins and the treats fall out or he might pick it up and toss it at me to get my attention or lastly I think he might sit by it and bark at me to come help him. like he does when his toys go too far under the couch for him to reach.

Great video, Maggie! And, yes, the box the toy comes in is super cute!

This would be great to challenge my dog, Artie with taking the treats out. He has a puzzle dog toy and he likes moving it around to get the treats out. I’m sure he could figure out this toy too. Great video and thank you for the chance to win.

Wow! This would be perfect for my friend’s giant, hyper dog. She has anxiety issues, and she needs to stay engaged.

First I love the video – we see so many pics of the dogs it is fun to watch them! I think Rom would pick it up and flip it…not sure about the other two.

Daisy would love this! Of course, she’d probably try the ‘pick it up and dump it” method. LOL She prefers more of a brute force attack on her treat toys if they require more than rolling around.

Maggie I love the video review so I get to see you and the boys. I wonder how sturdy the toy is – how easily can the flap be broken off by a determined dog – say, someone like Emmett?

You did great with the video, Maggie! I think it was a great idea to do that video demo too. I loved how Emmett watched you putting it together so closely. It’s cool how they all approached it differently, I think that kind of shows their different personalities….I’d love to see how each of my dogs would do it.
