Seriously.
Have you thanked your dog for never being angry at you when you’re too busy to throw the ball one more time? Have you thanked your dog for keeping your feet warm when it’s cold outside? Have you thanked your dog for being so excited when you come home, no matter how long you’ve been gone? Have you thanked your dog for loving you unconditionally? Have you thanked your dog for never judging or criticizing you? Have you thanked your dog for his/her unending optimism? Have you thanked your dog for showing what true kindness is? Have you thanked your dog for never asking to be thanked for anything? Have you thanked your dog for always being a dog, and so much more? If not, get to it!
What do you thank your dog for?
**Hey, guys! Maggie here. As you can see, John now has his own byline since he’s taken over the blog while I recuperate. I got the tube out of my arm yesterday (yippee!) so after a weekend of rest and puppy snuggles, I hope to be back next week with tons more dog-related posts because, oh man, these guys have had an eventful couple of weeks. Thanks for sticking around!
Jen
I thank Elka for being my pretty, sweet girl. And for not being a barker. And for loving me!
Maggie
So, so sweet, Jen!
Maggie
Thanks for writing this, John. Honestly, I’ve been thanking them every day for being such sweet snugglers and for keeping me company for the last five weeks. They think I should thank them with steaks… I’m giving them scratches instead.
Ann
Thanks to your boys for always being so happy to see me and offering so many smiles, hugs and kisses.
Glad the tube is gone! I hope the arm gets stronger every day now, but don’t push it!
Maggie
Thanks, Ann! 🙂
Tina
I’m so glad to hear you’re getting well, Maggie! My name is Tina and I’m a newcomer, having only recently discovered OMD. I’m grateful to my dogs (all six of them) for filling the void after we learned I couldn’t have children. They graciously accept all the nurturing that we wouldn’t have an outlet for otherwise and they make our home a fun and happy place 🙂
Maggie
Welcome, Tina!! And thank you so much for the kind words! I can’t even imagine how fun and happy your home is with six (SIX?!) dogs! You are a saint…

So glad to hear your recovering, Maggie. We’ve enjoyed having John hang out here with us, but it will be good to know you’re well enough to come back.
Stacy
Maggie- I just found OMD tonight. I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed reading your posts (as well as John’s). I have been considering my own dog-related blog site and you’ve provided me with some needed inspiration. I hope your treatments go well and you are back at it in no time. Looks like you have plenty of “nurse” providing excellent TLC 🙂
