Our world is covered in a sheet of one-inch-thick ice right now. It’s coating our windows, the sides of the house, the sidewalks and roads, and our backyard has become a skating rink. It’s so windy that our windows and siding are rattling, and the young oak in front of our house is practically bent in half. Poor Lucas, who’s clumsy enough on dry land, is having a really, really hard time with this. Our power flickered – the ice is so heavy it’s downing trees and power lines – and our internet, phone, and TV went out. So today we’re dreaming about all those warm summer days when it was almost too hot to be outside:

Great idea! I will dream with you. With another blizzard starting outside my living room window, I would love to be transplanted back to the hot summer. I’m tired of hot chocolate. It’s time for lemonade!
Maggie
I am so, so with you!!! I would swap hot chocolate for lemonade in a heartbeat!

Oh dear, that sounds very, very cold! It’s fairly temperate over here but my hands are cold as I type, the heat has to be on… and I definitely look forward to the “too hot” days! 🙂

Now I feel bad for complaining about cold days here in Seattle. At least it’s clear roads with no ice or snow! I hope you weather the storm and I’m with you – let’s get to those hot summer days already!
Helen
I’ve forgotten, what’s that green stuff on the ground in your picture called? It’s been so long since we’ve seen any! I hear you with the ice. We still have internet but it’s fading fast!

I think your ice-storm is way worse than our snow here. I’m all about denial and waiting for the better weather. Though I know we still have a lot more time…
