I’ve encountered some mixed reviews of this book, but…
I loved it.
I really did. I couldn’t put it down. It was light-hearted but very touching. Yes, it’s completely anthropomorphic, but I adored the voice of the dog and all the tiny little doggy details that he captured. He must have spent hours just observing dogs in several different types of situations because he nailed so many dog behaviors and mannerisms.
If you haven’t heard about this book yet, the gist is that a puppy tries to understand his purpose in life. The book is a tear-jerker: Throughout his explorations, he dies and is reborn while continuing to look for his purpose.
It’s a darling book. The puppy’s voice is open, honest, curious, and just a little bit selfish. It’s wonderful. But on a deeper level, the author tackles several big animal-welfare issues in a totally covert way. You’ll never look at your dog in the same way again!
Because I loved this book so much, I want everyone to read it! 🙂 So I’m giving away two copies.

I would love to read this book! I’m a little scared that it’s a tearjerker, since I’m a crybaby anyway, but I still think I would love it. Thanks for the opportunity!
Like Heather, I am a total crybaby and I’ve yet to read a book about a dog that didn’t make me bawl my eyes out. Since I do most of my reading on the bus, this can be embarrassing. But it’s a happy kind of crying so I really hope I win!
Ooh! Me! Me! I would love to read this book!
Would love to win!
Thanks for the giveaway! I’d like to win!
I don’t care if it is anthropomorphioc either. If it makes you cry and laugh, then it is a good book. Would love to read this one. Have you read
Have you read ‘Bad to the Bone’ by Bo Hoefinger? I love that book.
