I have a confession.
I’ve been neglecting this blog.
There. I said it. Neglect.
Somehow between writing, teaching, committees, tying up dozens of loose ends on the postcard project, therapy dog activities, family activities, and all the other distractions and interruptions that come up every day, “post on blog” fell to the very bottom of my to-do list.
Then last night, the boys ran out of water. I didn’t notice at first. They did what they usually do when their bowl is empty: they sort of lingered nearby, trying to catch my eye, waiting.
As soon as I noticed, of course, I went over, picked up the bowl, and filled it. They waited patiently, sitting nicely, watching me fill up their bowl… and in that moment I remembered why I started this blog in the first place.
Our dogs count on us for everything. Every single thing. We determine when they go to the bathroom, how much food they get to eat and when, whether or not they’re allowed on the sofa, when they get to exercise, who they play with, when they get baths, and what toys they get to play with.
That is a tremendous responsibility, to have that much control over another life.
We want what’s best for them and strive to make sure they stay happy and healthy. And that’s partly the reason I started this blog in the first place – to connect with this community of dog lovers who are just as crazy about their furballs as I am about mine.
So while I wrangle the last mile of to-do’s on my list, I’ve lined up a number of guest posts, updates on the End BSL campaign, and some awesome product giveaways. Thanks for your patience.
And thanks, as always, for continuing to stop by to hang out with me, Emmett, and Lucas, even when I let cobwebs grow around the corners of the blog!

I really admire what you are doing with Emmett and with BSL issues. So, I will continue to check in!And yes, we need more hours in a day. But R&R is essential.
Maggie
I would LOVE more hours in the day! Another two or three would probably do! 🙂

Oh, don’t you worry about it, Miss Maggie. You’ve been doing real good stuffs and sometimes other stuffs has to wait. And that’s A-OK!
