About me: I am a freelance writer, grammar geek, bibliophile, hiker, wannabe yogi, eco-friendly, and, obviously, a dog lover. I live in Bloomington, IN, with my husband John and our three dogs, Emmett, Lucas, and Cooper.
I hang out in all corners of the web, but you can usually find me on Facebook, Twitter, or – my new obsession – Pinterest!
About the blog: Oh My Dog! delivers a funny, positive, and helpful dose of dog (nearly) every day. A little more specifically, at OMD! you’ll find a range of dog-related topics including: stories about my pups, reviews, DIY pup projects, training tips, links to tons of online inspiration, and more! Though the content may vary, every single thing will always tie directly into my core values:
- compassion
- service
- passion
- community
- initiative
- eco-consciousness
My dogs are the funniest, sweetest creatures I’ve ever known. They teach and inspire me every single day. Hopefully, through this site, I can share what I’ve learned and gather even more inspiration from the vibrant online community of dog lovers!

Hey, Kate! Thanks for the kind words, and yes, I am on Twitter @maggiemarton!
Maggie,
What a great website you have. Loved reading about you and the boys. I’ll make sure to keep up with your blog and hope you all had a wonderful holiday.
XOXOXOX, Nancy
I write a pet column for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette..and I’ve always been anti BSL…there have been a number of bad bites here locally and so some people, including talk radio, are calling for a pit bull ban…tho Pennsylvania law currently prohibits this.
Would love to talk to people in Denver about how pit bull bans do not stop dog bites and attacks.
Call me? or give me a number where i can reach you.

Hi Maggie
Are you *MY* Maggie? The IPC volunteer?
Maggie
I am thinking of going to BlogPaws this year, I may be able to use the radio studios in Colorado Springs to do my dog training radio show. I would like you to be a guest on the show.
Hi Jeff,
Thank you so much for reaching out!! I’ll give you a call to chat about your radio show. Thank you! Also, you should definitely go to BlogPaws – I was amazed at how much I learned and how many awesome people I met in April. I’m really excited for Denver.

I wanted to let you know that non-profit Doggone Safe has be announced the International Dog Bite Prevention Challenge. We are challenging our Be a Tree presenters to educate as many children as possible during the third week of May (Dog Bite Prevention Week). The Be a Tree program teaches children to read dog body language and have empathy for dogs. It also teaches them how to be safe around dogs and to stand still like a tree if a strange dog comes near or any dog is bothering them. Our goal for the challenge is to educate 50,000 children during Dog Bite Prevention Week (third week in May).
I was hoping that you might be willing to do a blog post about the Challenge. We have some prewritten articles and a press release that you can use as a basis. Please let me know if you need further info.
