Positively Pit Bull: Meet Marley
Meet Marley! An international Positively Pit Bull!
Name: Marley
Age: 14 months
City: London, U.K.
Favorite things: Marley loves nothing more than to be chased. He will goad another dog to chase him by grabbing a stick in his mouth nudging the other dog with it and getting them to chase him. He loves all the usual doggie things: hanging out of the car window, running besides a bike, learning tricks, giving cuddles, and chewing on expensive footwear!
Marley came to us from a single parent family who bought him as a puppy and after two weeks the teenager got bored of him, so we were there to rescue him. Since then he has treated us to licks, belly rubs, and a lot of talking!!! He can sit, speak, stay, hi-five, shake paws, roll over, jump, and run 100m in 7 secs!
Marley now has a brother who is a Staffordshire bull terrier, albeit a year older, they are able to rough and tumble like dogs should. Marley loves my wife and adores my daughter as whenever he sees them he licks them like crazy. He is a fun loving, lovable rogue who gets compliments wherever he goes, from young to old.
He loves grabbing a stick and enticing any other passing dog to play with him, regardless of where he is, be it park or garden. Marley really is a true ambassador or the Pit Bull breed.

Great story! And I can barely stand the cuteness of those pictures. That is one handsome pup!
Love the story! Marley is adorable.
Marley is absolutely beautiful, too beautiful for words. It also seems that he know it because he’s not shy about posing for the camera.
I envy the fact that Marley and his brother play like dogs should. My two Shih Tzus hardly interact at all and they certainly don’t rough and tumble. I try to entice them but nothing seems to work.
Oh, what’s a dog mother to do?
Isn’t he so handsome?! I’d love to see pics of the brothers playing together!
Cute guy! Do they have the same struggles there with negative stereotypes of the breed?
Julie, That’s an excellent question. Let me see if I can get Marley’s person to fill us in!
Or if anyone else knows, please weigh in!
Hi all,
Thanks for the lovely comments about Marley. Let me know where to send a pic of the boys having fun altenately you are all welcome to keep up with their exploits at
http://www.youtube.com/biggob100 I have a few vids on there from when we first got Marley to present, the most recent is the boys playing in a park at 6am.
Marley and his SBT bro Mickey are subject to the typical stereotype that comes along with bull terrier breeds, but my favourite one to do is when we stop and talk to people and they say, “ooo he’s so cute, what breed is he?” I love watching thier face when I say, “Pit bull Terrier.” They visibly flinch and become uncomfortable for a few seconds.
I am getting ready to move to Stratford/London in a couple months and I own a pit bull terrier and all I can seem to find is horror stories of these beautiful dogs being seized and killed unless a judge has mercy on them. Is this true?? Are they legal now or still illegal? My fiance just moved to Stratford last week and he says they ARE legal. So what is the real story? As a fellow pit owner I figured you would be the best to ask. I don’t want to chance my baby being euthanized, he is such a good boy and I love him more than anything. Thanks for your time =)
Hi, Janelly: I checked online and found info dated 2004 – not reliable. I’m not in the UK, but I found the London Humane Society: http://www.londonhumanesociety.ca/. Give them a call and ask! (Maybe don’t give them your name/your dog’s name/address/etc. right away… just in case?) They’ll know for sure, then you can decide what’s best for you and your darling dog. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out!
