Hi Maggie,
I checked other websites which advocate what Dr. Pitcairn recommends. They are also vets, so it must be OK.

Hi, Jane! Unfortunately, I don't have any info on the link between bone meal powder, flouride, and bone cancer. I would suggest calling your vet or the vet school at a nearby university. Good luck!!

I put my dogs on a diet that was similar to what this book recommends. Dr. Pitcairn recommends bone meal powder in various amounts depending on the particular diet your dog is on for that meal.
I have read conflicting info about bone meal powder, fluroide and bone cancer in dogs. Some say it increases the risk, others like this book still recommend it.
Do you have any furthur info?
