I dare you to ring my doorbell

This past weekend, John and I went out of town for a friend’s wedding, leaving the boys with my parents and their pup, Otto.
Otto is such a cute little bugger!

Otto is a tiny dog with a huge amount of playful energy. He and Lucas are best buds and can keep each other entertained for hours and hours. Lucas, though, does not recover from their play sessions as quickly as youngster Otto does, so when we went to pick them up last night, I think Lucas was relieved.

However… unbeknownst to us, we were committed to do a little dog-sitting for my cousin’s chocolate lab pup, Turk. Turk is adorable, sweet, smart, pretty well-mannered. But he is a five-month-old chocolate lab, so, in other words, his enegy level puts Otto to shame!

Last night, as we headed off to sleep, we put Turk in his crate. The poor little guy was just crying and howling and barking… and then he stopped… turns out, Lucas had gone over and laid down next to Turk’s crate to keep him company over night! He was still sleeping there this morning. Too sweet!

Luckily the three dogs are all good friends, but with three large, energetic pups, it’s going to be a busy week!

Let’s be honest: what Lucas really did is threaten to eat him in the morning if he didn’t be quiet. We all know how evil those dogs are. However, their wicked ways pale in comparison to the malign terror simply known as Lucy The Beagle-Dog…
